Education Support

About Me
My name is “Ms. Annie”, as the students I work with call me. I’ve taught children for over 50 years. Teaching is my passion! I work deeply and comprehensively with social-emotional and language development and reading and writing. I live in a small cottage with a kind and wonderful dog named Willy. My home brings me and those who visit serenity, joy and happiness. It’s a fun environment, filled with beautiful art, art supplies and books! I love to garden, cook, walk with Willy, listen to music, make art and read.

What I do
I work on social emotional and language
development, as needed, for your child to be successful and happy with life. I talk with the student throughout our work sessions and
I model and expand language. I create an
environment of compassion and relaxation
in which your child will grow.
To foster growth and learning:
-
Demystify the child’s learning style
-
Individualize what is worked on with the child, making it relevant and meaningful
-
Teach self-advocacy skills
-
Offer positive and specific feedback, which helps the child build a repertoire of skills
-
Teach life skills to develop a positive self image
-
Develop self-concept as a learner
What I Use
I work with all children, including special needs children, as well as kids who just need a boost. I use Emergent Curriculum. I respond to the child's interests and needs to create meaningful learning experiences. I’m an intuitive teacher. I use rich art materials, beautiful literature and creative writing to facilitate positive social-emotional and language development and to improve reading and writing skills. I rigorously evaluate the child’s needs and unique challenges. I guide the child to explore his/her abilities and vulnerabilities. By understanding one's own capabilities and learning styles, one has a better opportunity to succeed in life. I offer the child the tools needed to maintain a healthy and joyous life.
